The BlackBerry Dynamics SDK v10.2 is now generally available for Android™ and iOS. This release includes support for Blocking Android 3rd party keyboards, ability to enable WebRTC in iOS WKWebView via an application policy, Android WebView Enhancements.

Key highlights below:

  • The BlackBerry Dynamics profile setting “Do not allow custom keyboards” has been extended to support Android devices.  Previously only iOS was supported. (Requires upgrade to UEM 12.16).

  • As of the 10.2 SDK release, use of WebRTC (Web Real-Time Communication) will now be policy controlled, which will allow app developers to manage the use of WebRTC in their BlackBerry Dynamics apps. Prior to BlackBerry Dynamics SDK for iOS 10.2, WebRTC support was allowed by default.  For apps compiled with BlackBerry Dynamics SDK for iOS 10.2 and later, use of WebRTC will now be disabled by default. For more information, see Enabling microphone and camera support with WebRTC in the iOS Development guide.

  • The BlackBerry Android WebView library now supports downloading of files into the BlackBerry Dynamics secure container. For more information, see BBWebView support in BlackBerry Dynamics SDK for Android API reference.

Note that in this release, iOS13 and Android 8 are no longer supported.

For full list of changes to the SDK and software requirements, please review the release notes for the BlackBerry Dynamics SDK for Android and for the BlackBerry Dynamics SDK for iOS.

Happy coding!
