BlackBerry Dynamics SDK v7 is available now including new advanced security features with CylancePROTECT.

The BlackBerry Dynamics SDK v7 is now generally available for Android and iOS.  This release includes a number of new features including advanced threat prevention with CylancePROTECT.  By integrating the CylancePROTECT library into the BlackBerry Dynamics SDK, Dynamics app developers simply need to upgrade to this latest version to leverage Cylance’s proven world class AI technology, no additional coding involved.   Key highlights below:

  • Advanced security features with CylancePROTECT including malware detection and safe browsing. For more information about CylancePROTECT, see the CylancePROTECT documentation.

  • New GDAuthenticationManager API to manage potential security threats by requiring users to reauthenticate to confirm their identity when attempting to perform high security or high risk actions.

  • Support for zero sign-on (ZSO) for SaaS through  BlackBerry Enterprise Identity so users don't have to complete multiple logins or remember multiple passwords.  For more information, see the BlackBerry Enterprise Identity Administration content.

  • Grace period option for BlackBerry Dynamics compliance policies so end user can be notified in advance of non-compliant status and take corrective action before an enforcement action (block/wipe) is applied.

  • Ability to set new "Monitor and log” compliance enforcement action for Dynamics apps.  This is a new report only option which is now available in addition to block and wipe.

  • PAC file support to  more efficiently and effectively manage BlackBerry Dynamics application connections to app servers.

For more information please see the BlackBerry Dynamics v7 and v7.1 release notes.

Enjoy these new features and stay safe.
