Just a couple of weeks ago we announced a Gamepad offer to give your game increased visibility in BlackBerry World. I don’t want to stop there, as I want all our game developers to get as much visibility as possible in BlackBerry World.
I want to remind our game developers about the Built for BlackBerry program that shows your customers that you’ve built your game for the signature BlackBerry 10 experience. Once your game has been Built for BlackBerry approved, you have permission to use the designation in association with your app marketing. It will also appear in BlackBerry World with the Built for BlackBerry logo badge and icon, increasing its visibility to the user community.
Apps that appear in the Built for BlackBerry carousel placement experience an average increase of 323% for free daily downloads, 483% for paid daily downloads and 401% for daily revenue. The increased visibility from the Gamepad offer and the Built for BlackBerry Program is a winning combination! Check out what Mark Ng from Clapfoot Games has to say:
“We have been very impressed with the Built for BlackBerry program. Our certified games have had a tremendous amount of visibility on BlackBerry World, which has resulted in top rankings and increased revenue. On average, our certified games generate more revenue per user than that of other platforms. We will definitely be applying to the Built for BlackBerry program for all of our games in the future.” — Mark Ng, Clapfoot Games
Adding in Gamepad support to your game gives you an important check in the developer checklist to get your game approved for Built for BlackBerry. It’s one of the options under Service Integration.
I encourage all game developers to make their games Built for BlackBerry. With the Gamepad offer and the increased visibility in BlackBerry World, the benefits are too good to pass up.
