BlackBerry 10 Jam World Tour: The Next Generation (Enterprise Edition)

BlackBerry® Jam Enterprise kicks off next week in Toronto and London. This time around, we’ll be focusing on Enterprise app development. These events differ from the BlackBerry 10 Jam World Tour in that they are geared towards developers looking to create apps for their organization, or for the general business community. Strategy and capability for deploying apps within organizations is also a key theme that we’ll be addressing.

As with prior BlackBerry 10 Jam World Tour events, registration is free but space is limited. A number of BlackBerry 10 Dev Alpha devices will also be distributed to those that are eligible. The First BlackBerry Jam Sessions Hackathon Kicks Off in Brazil

On August 25th, an event of particular awesomeness happened in Recife, Brasil — the inaugural BlackBerry® Jam Sessions Hackathon. Fuelled by pizza and energy drinks, over 80 developers had 10 hours to create their apps for BlackBerry® 10, using HTML, C++, Cascades™, Adobe® AIR® or Java®/Android™. Once the dust had settled 10 hours later, there were 16 apps ready to be showcased, as well as many happy and satisfied developers.

Over the next few months, we’re bringing BlackBerry® Jam Sessions to developers in South and Central America. These hackathons are some of the best hackathons in the world. Why do we think they’re the best? Because we’ve listened to what you’ve asked for and we’ve done our best to deliver.

We go to your cities, we bring the experts, feed you with pizza and Red Bull, honor you with prizes and rewards but mainly, we work to create relationships with you. We are there for you, because we want you to be successful. These hackathons are more than a 10 hour long programming session. They will be your chance to learn, practice and create your applications with the support like you’ve never experienced. Here’s a sample of what you’ll see -

Developing Apps in Latin America? Be Sure to Attend BlackBerry DevCon Americas 2011

The market for BlackBerry® platform apps in Latin America is bigger than ever, and we know this is exciting work. That’s why this year’s BlackBerry® DevCon Americas 2011 is focused on helping Latin American developers do great things and learn more about developing for the BlackBerry platform (in Spanish, too!).

This year’s sessions are diverse – check out the full session catalog to see everything that will be covered, including the 14 sessions that will be available in Spanish. These sessions will be presented by top Research In Motion® (RIM®) experts, special guest speaker and Visionary Game Developer Jane McGonigal, and community speakers from Assanka and Crackberry.com. You will hear from companies active in the Latin American developer community, including Action Creations, Activ, Eudaimonia, Infocket, Sensebyte Mobile, and [Q] Interactiva.

Aside from the sessions, you can also bring your questions to the Ask the Experts area, where RIM experts will be on hand specifically for the Latin America region. In this area, you’ll also be able to get some valuable input from your fellow attendees.

If it’s hands-on work you’re looking for, sign up for training sessions on using Adobe® Flex®, Adobe® AIR®, and BlackBerry® WebWorks™ to learn how to build apps for the BlackBerry® PlayBook™ tablet. Both one-day courses are offered on Monday, October 17 from 9 AM to 5 PM and cost $499 USD each.
