Currently there are active groups all over the world, including <a href="http://www.mobileman.com/de/developersgroup.htm" target="_new">Zurich</a>, <a href="http://www.facebook.com/home.php?#!/group.php?gid=120608081291594&amp;v=info" target="_new">Berlin</a>, <a href="http://www.blackberrydev.com.ar/" target="_new">Buenos Aires</a>,<a href="http://www.meetup.com/BBDevIL/" target="_new">Tel Aviv</a>, with many more set to launch. If there isn&#8217;t one in your area already, you can bet there will be one soon.</p>

<p>At Mobile World Congress 2010 App Planet, we announced the <a href="http://rimdevblog.files.wordpress.com/2010/04/toronto_mobile.png2010/02/new-community-programs-%e2%80%93-developer-groups-developer-recognition/">introduction of a new program</a> supporting local, community-led BlackBerry® Developer Groups.  These groups are built exclusively for developers and provide an opportunity to learn and network in a local community with shared interests – as well as access other exclusive member benefits.</p>
<p>Following the launch of the <a href="http://rimdevblog.files.wordpress.com/2010/04/toronto_mobile.png2010/03/blackberry-community-programs-%e2%80%93-new-england-blackberry-developers-group/">inaugural Developer Group in Boston</a>, new groups continue to start up in cities around the world.  Here are some of our newest BlackBerry Developer Groups – stay tuned for more announcements!</p>
<ul>
<li>The <strong>Toronto, Canada</strong> group will have its first meeting on <strong>April 21st</strong> &#8211; you can find out more information about the group on the <a href="http://www.facebook.com/pages/Toronto/Toronto-BlackBerry-Developers-Group/356825891193">Toronto group site</a>.</li>

<p>At the Mobile World Congress 2010 App Planet event we <a title="New Community Programs – Developer Groups &amp; Developer Recognition" href="http://rimdevblog.files.wordpress.com/2010/03/negroup_mobile1.jpg2010/02/new-community-programs-%e2%80%93-developer-groups-developer-recognition/">announced</a> the introduction of a new program supporting local, community-led BlackBerry Developer Groups.</p>
<p>Now, we are sending an open call to all BlackBerry developers in the Boston area who are thinking about developing for BlackBerry smartphones and would like more information.  The New England BlackBerry Developer Group is now online and will have its first meeting on <strong>March 16th in Cambridge, MA!</strong> You can find out more about the New England BlackBerry Developers Group here: <a title="New England BlackBerry Developers Group" href="http://www.meetup.com/New-England-BlackBerry-Developers" target="_new">http://www.meetup.com/New-England-BlackBerry-Developers</a></p>

<p>Members of BlackBerry Developer Groups will benefit from participation in a local community with shared interests in learning, networking and support, will receive regular platform and program updates from RIM, and have access to exclusive discounts for developer certification exams and select BlackBerry developer events and conferences.</p>
