“Am I really sure about this?” I wondered to myself, looking down 900 feet from the deck of the Stratosphere Hotel in Las Vegas. There I was, strapped into a flight suit, getting ready to step off the edge of the hotel’s landmark tower and free-fall 855 feet to the ground. Billed as the longest standing free-fall jump in the world, this was no little bungee jump. Marty Mallick had just jumped minutes before me, and I was about to do the same because my PR folks had convinced me that we needed a symbolic “Leap of Faith” to match the leap of faith that BlackBerry developers had taken with us.
Don’t get me wrong, I love roller coasters and whacky amusement park rides. But this took things to a whole new level.
“3… 2… 1…” came the countdown behind me… and 11 seconds later I was on the ground.
This is for you BlackBerry Developers!
