BlackBerry Gaming Webcasts Announced

There have been many success stories from game developer bringing games to BlackBerry® PlayBook™ tablet, and one such candidate is MangoLabs Studio, who came in to the Brazil Hackathon at Sao Paulo not knowing what to expect. At the end of the two-day BlackBerry Gaming Hackathon, they had completely ported their game Light It Up! — and in a week, they had it up in the BlackBerry App World™ storefront! They also released another game, Running Flame, that went on to hit over 50K+ downloads in BlackBerry App World in a matter of weeks.

Developing games using the BlackBerry Native SDK has many advantages, and my favorite one is this: If you develop a game for the BlackBerry PlayBook tablet now, it would simply run on BlackBerry® 10 devices with very little to no changes as they run the same native platform! That opens up your game to a much bigger market.

With that said, we are pleased to kick off the beginning of a series of BlackBerry Gaming Webcasts for game developers worldwide. This series is tailor-made to help you develop or port your existing game to the BlackBerry 10 and BlackBerry PlayBook tablet. Here is a summary of the first of several BlackBerry Gaming Webcasts:

Getting started with BlackBerry Native Game Development
