The BlackBerry WebWorks R&D Organization is searching for talented new grads or senior developers to be part of their group of JavaScript and Web technology experts. This team produces the best of class JavaScript frameworks, simulators and tools for BlackBerry Web application development such as the BlackBerry WebWorks SDK, Ripple Mobile emulator and bbUI.js.

As a member of the BlackBerry WebWorks R&D organization, the successful candidate would be involved in various projects that included working with: the latest JavaScript standards, nodeJS development, building chrome extensions, creating and publishing open source code, travelling, meeting and talking with fun developers about their own BlackBerry development efforts.

Team Lead, BlackBerry WebWorks – Job Number 1202622

POSITION SUMMARY

The successful candidate will join the BlackBerry WebWorks R&D organization to lead a team of software technology experts to produce best of class JavaScript frameworks, simulators and tools. You will have a proven background acting as a development team lead and will have a solid understanding in a variety of Web technologies. You will have a demonstrated ability to handle people, technology and business issues with equal aptitude.

RESPONSIBILITIES

As a Team Lead in the BlackBerry WebWorks R&D group you will lead a team that contributes new features to a variety of web open source initiates. You will be expected to be familiar with all of the BlackBerry mobile web tools and platforms, and apply industry best practices to your daily work. The group has responsibility for a variety of products that cater to the web community and your familiarity with industry standard tools and practices will contribute to the vision of building superior products.

Software Developer, Web Runtime Engine – Job Number 1201964

POSITION SUMMARY

The BlackBerry WebWorks organization is a team of technology experts dedicated to delivering a best of class suite of development platforms, simulators and tools. At the heart of our runtime is the mobile industry standard WebKit rendering engine. We operate primarily in an Open Source environment, are committed to an agile delivery process, and to keeping products shippable at all times. We are on the bleeding edge of web-based technology and our strength is our ability to quickly change gears as priorities shift. If you are looking for a role where you don't learn new things, this is NOT for you.

RESPONSIBILITIES

As a Software Developer in our group you will contribute your existing expertise, and demonstrate your enthusiasm to learn new things. You may not be a JavaScript expert when you start but you understand that by leveraging the good parts it is a powerful programming language with uses well beyond building websites.
